Thoughts on Teachers' Day

I must say that I was truly touched by the kind gesture of 5H pupils today. Some pupils hand-made gifts and cards; some bought gifts; some even went on stage to perform.

Oh well, not forgetting to mention the "fanfare" I get when I step into 5H classroom - a standing ovation with all the smiley faces. I really felt like a celebrity or even a queen like Huiyi put it. haha

I think that the bonds I have with 5H are getting stronger. Although I always nag and scold them, deep inside, I really love this class. There were times when I felt like giving up because the discipline of the class went from bad to worse. I even questioned my ability to be a teacher. But after some thoughts, I consoled myself by coming out with this conclusion - pupils feel at ease with me and treat me like a friend. Hence, this bondage compromises the strict discipline another teacher would have from a class.

What I really want from 5H for this year's Teachers' Day are not gifts nor cards. What I really hope is that the pupils enjoy learning in school and be developed wholly be it in terms of academics or well-being.

So, 5H pupils who are reading this post, what I really want to say is your pretty teacher LOVES all of you and hope that we can work towards better grades for SA2!
